National Convention

💙💛National Convention💛💙

By Breya Beck

Wednesday, October 26th FFA chapter officers, members, and sponsors headed out to Indianapolis, Indiana for the 95th National FFA Convention. While traveling down one of the many interstates we saw “The Gateway Arch” in St. Louis, Missouri!

Thursday, we attended the “Opening Session” at the convention. We started the morning by listening to Jessica Goucher sing as well as many other chorus members on stage during the event. We had the opportunity to listen to a former WNBA player, Tamika Catchings, as the motivational speaker during our session. After the session we made our way to Louisville, Kentucky for a tour of “Churchill Downs” facility and museum where the Kentucky Derby is held. Then we went to the “Louisville Slugger'' factory and museum and toured them as well. We even got some batting practice in!

Friday, we went back to the convention and viewed multiple expo exhibits at the events center. We squeezed in a little shopping at the FFA convention “mall” as well as a few songs on the dance floor to show off our moves. After that we headed west to Illinois to stop for the night for our next day of activities.

Saturday, we drove to Waterloo, Iowa and toured the “John Deere Tractor and Engine Museum.” We sat on a couple of the tractors, designed our own, and saw how the older engines work.

During the trip we hit a total of 6 states and traveled approximately 2,180 miles! We would like to thank our trip sponsors Dacia Redgate and Savannah Smith for accompanying us! As well as all the sponsors and donations, without you this wonderful experience would not have been possible! A lifetime of memories were made! You can also view more pictures and videos of our trip on our YouTube page “Waynoka FFA.”
